Square 1 combines a variety of electronic music genres with an emotional vocal delivery reminiscent of a mood swing. This project was created in memory of Dan Abernathy (Square 1). Some of the songs were completed by Square 1, while others have been finished by friends.

Klayton, the man behind the machine, originally created the moniker as a producer pseudonym. However, after retiring his previous band, the 90s cult industrial act Circle of Dust, he adopted Celldweller as his defining outlet.
