Play
In 2006 I noticed my piano playing was deteriorating by 'missing' notes in the melody line. Further investigation revealed I was actually playing the notes but I was not hitting the key with sufficient force to make it sound. At first my GP thought it was arthritis but it was later found to be the onset of Parkinson's Disease and it was not long before I was unable to use my right hand. Disaster! Especially as my songs were all developed by riffing over a series of chords and I would fall upon my ideas almost by accident. Worse still I could not even just sit and play. I decided the way forward was to use backing tracks and play the melodies with my left hand. At first I used my i5M arranger, sequencing song chords in appropriate styles for the songs I liked to play. Then I got more adventuress and created tailored backing tracks tracks using computer sequencing software and you will find these on my website www.wrights-music.co.uk. Meanwhile after several failed attempts the Doctors found a medication that did not adversely affect me (at least it was tolerable) and brought my right hand back to life - at least for the time being!
Any good lyric writers out there looking to collaborate? If so check out my music to appreciate the genres and styles I prefer. If you like it get in touch and lets see if we can compose something special!
