This is not a musical review but more of a content review, but Roscoe and friends I must say this is a pretty amazing track. Mostly because it follows its own sense of direction; it takes a natural path that controls the music and is not forced as it might be with an opposite tact. Truly organic with the additions of top notch playing and singing.
I am especially impressed with the switch that occurs at the quote from Amazing Grace - "I once was lost, but now I'm found"
You pretty much set up this bleak picture of reaching your end and the loss of pride. You expect something very negative ... but then you show salvation and the direction changes totally. Although this is not a super complex transition the song takes on a true story aspect where the changes in the music reflect the twists and turns of each step.
I have been stating for other reviews that this is the most desirable condition for music/lyric to have this utter connection.
All that and a beautiful song ... it's that New Frequency hitting us again and expanding its meaning.
