Yamaha Motif ES Rack
Mar 19, 2008
The other week I brought home my new Yamaha Motif ES Rack, which is a nice synth module, mainly to replace my ageing Yamaha SW1000 card. Some lush sounds on it. Have already used it in a song I'm producing, but I need a few solid days to explore its sounds fully. But it's a great studio addition - I'm very pleased. :)

Studio re-build nearly complete
Feb 5, 2008
New soundcard (M-audio Audiophile 192) successfully installed. Cubase SX3 and various softsynths reinstalled and functioning properly. Just need to sort out a few MIDI gremlins between my hardware synths. But more or less there! I can make music again, after a month of not having a studio....
All ready for my client when he visits in early March, to finish a song I'm producing for him.

The 'New Soundcard' search continues...
Jan 17, 2008
Having a bit of a shuffle in the studio re-build. May move my old Yamaha card to my old Win 98 PC, and use that machine as purely a synth. I like a lot of those old Yamaha sounds and it would be a shame to lose them.
Thinking of getting either an M-Audio, Echo or RME soundcard for the main PC. Decisions decisions... :)

The Earthbred studio blog
Jan 15, 2008
So it begins...
Finally got round to releasing my music properly on the internet. I've written a lot of music in my home studio over the last 8 years (15 years if you count the studio's previous incarnation), and alongside commissions for short films, animations, interactive work and song production, I've had my own personal project running alongside.
This project I titled 'Earthbred', and encompasses ethnic, spiritual and electronic elements, which are all close to my heart. I would like to share it with you.
I have uploaded some existing tracks, and am currently working on a new one (hopefully a song).
Currently reinstalling everything on my studio computer, so things are out of action for a week or so!
Peace, and thanks for reading.
