So, im a regular on SC. It has been 2 WHOLE YEARS and i still see beats immitating big name artists such as Wiz Khalifa, Drake, Kanye, Rick Ross, and Lil Wayne. Now, I just want you to ask yourself this question. If you were an Artist looking for a beat to buy, Would you want to buy a beat that sounded like another Artists music (Who is already famous for having that sound)? I can't speak for every artist, but i speak for the few talented artists who are trying to build there OWN sound and brand. It becomes frustrating when you have well over what? like MILLIONS of beats to choose from and they all sound like something thats either been done before or something that is already out? I have alot of you Talented Producers on Facebook. I've seen such statuses along the lines of 'I want more talented artists on my joints' BUT. when i go and check out your beats they got pictures of other artists beside them. Basically stating in my opinion, that in order to 'sound good' or 'Succeed' with this particular beat, you need to do it this way or sound like this guy. It's hard for an Artist to imagine something new or a concept, when all they see/hear is what has already made another person successful. You are trying to build your own Brand. Just like the artist. Be the inspiration you want to see/hear on your beats. Your job is to create. Create something new! Don't just follow what the next man is doing simply because it's working for him. -Rome Diggz
