In a nutshell, it sucks. Trust is a major issue. You believe in your mind everyone has a motive. Friendships get strained. Relationships are hard to maintain. You feel like your world will crash at any moment.
In this fast paced world that we live in, we race around trying to accomplish as much as we possibly can. Multi-tasking is the phrase tossed around loosely. If you don't multi-task, your wasting time, which studies have proven false. I believe that a person needs to be a soul of high character. Choose kindness instead of being right. It's okay to wronged occasionally. Practice kindness, give it out generously and you will receive back in the same manner. Be a forgiving person. Forgiveness is a sign of strength. Forgiveness does not mean you forget that the wrong ever happened, you move on and don't hold the past against a person. A person who has great character does not live in excess. They are content with what they have and don't have. One of my favorite thoughts comes from the 24th verse of the TAO: 24th Verse TAO If you stand on tiptoe, you cannot stand firmly. If you take long steps, you cannot walk far. Showing off does not reveal enlightenment. Boasting will not produce accomplishment. He who is self-righteous is not respected. He who brags will not endure. All the days of acting are odious, distasteful. They are superfluous, excesses. They are like a pain in the stomach a tumor to the body. When walking the path of the Tao This is the very stuff that must be Uprooted, thrown out and left behind Key thought: Change your life by consciously choosing to be in a state of gratitude Change your life by examining your urge to boast and be self-righteous Tomorrow morning, do something expressing your kindness to someone who will be totally surprised by your actions. E-mail someone, expressing your love and appreciation. Call someone who is lonely or in an assisted living facility. Send flowers to a loved one who’s alone, or even a stranger if necessary. Note how your gratitude for another truly nurture your path, not that of your ego. Posted by Gregg Akehurst at 11:23 AM
