Mohammed Salem - The first studio album in 11 years!
Jun 9
There has been much speculation amidst growing anticipation surrounding Mohammed Salem. The question on everyone's lips; "When is he releasing a new album? If at all".
On February 20th, 2025 ... the wait was finally over. Mohammed Salem released his first studio album in 11 years. His last studio album was "Diary of a Madman" released in 2014. A very dark and deeply personal album with a somewhat passive/aggressive tone. In 2025, "Imperfection" is an album which is just that. It's an album that is both perfect and imperfect as Salem puts it.
"The album has 13 tracks that are perfectly 2 minutes and 11 seconds each. Neither track is one second longer or shorter than another. The imperfection lays in the vocals. I recorded the entire album in one take; faults and all. And I'm happy with that", he says.
The album is also imperfect in its delivery of measured success. Whilst the singles released from the album have been a phenomenal success with two singles hitting No.1 and a third single peaking at No.2; the album itself is a moderate success. It's clear that whoever made the decision on which singles to release, made the right decision. The fourth single from the album entitled "Freedom" has just been released and whether it lives up to the success of the previous three is yet to be determined. However, it does have an R&B/Funk sound that Salem has been playing with for the first time in his career.
All in all we can say for sure that the drought is finally over. A new album finally hitting stores and not short of chart success.

B-Sides Collection is OUT NOW
Feb 11, 2023

The past few years has seen Mohammed Salem release a string of "Greatest Hits" albums which include remix collections and their respective deluxe versions. However, this year the singer has embarked on a new project to highlight the b-side tracks that usually don't get enough recognition but are worthy of their own release.
The new album "Songs from the other side" is a journey into celebrating those b-side tracks which include the official first single "You loved me" dedicated to his two best friends/brothers Khaled Zaki and Amir Emad. In an unusual turn though, the single was released days after the album itself was released. Usually artists work the other way around when releasing a new project; however, we know Salem doesn't exactly do things the way we expect him to.
Although the album is remarkable, the cover so natural and down to earth; many are still waiting to see when an entirely new album will be released. Salem's last studio album was in 2014 appropriately titled "Diary of a Madman". The question has been asked and we await the response.

The Wait Is Over
Jul 6, 2020

It has been a very long and emotional journey for Australian singer/songwriter, Mohammed Salem. None moreso, than the last four years. Since his debut single "They don't care" back in 1995 when he was only 17 years of age; Mohammed Salem has taken us on a journey of social awareness, love, self exploration, personal growth and intense deep emotional turmoil.
Now at age 42; this Australian/Egyptian artist has released 10 albums (including 2 greatest hits albums), sold in excess of 1 million albums worldwide, awarded numerous accolades, won countless awards and nominated for many more. Four years ago, Mohammed Salem released a greatest hits album that celebrated his musical achievements and cemented an entire chapter in his musical journey.
Admittedly, Mohammed Salem took time away from the music scene citing no desire to return for a while. Many believed writer's block, whilst others felt his passion for music had died. In his own words; Mohammed Salem believed that at that particular point in his life, he had nothing left to give. His passion for music had in fact faded, he had nothing left to say; or more precisely, nothing he wanted to share.
In 2018, Mohammed Salem's father passed away whilst the family was vacationing in their family home in Egypt. Any glimmer that he was planning to come back with anything new was definitely dimmed. Whilst Mohammed Salem still mourns the passing of his father, he has finally decided to ease his way back into the music industry with his first release in four years. This year will see the release of "Explosive: The Remix Collection". The set contains his biggest and most successful remixes over the years and celebrates the incredible 15 year relationship and journey between himself and Fin DJ Jarno Lethonen; better known as DJ Jenkki. The pair first worked together in 2005 when DJ Jenkki created the masterpiece remixes for the hit single "Fantasy". Since then, the pair have worked on and off over the past decade and a half to create club mixes that graced clubs all over the world. This new release will not only showcase the amazing mixes by the pair over the years, but will also showcase some new remixes by British producer Briel Hollm. The album will also be led by the release of the brand new single "Blindspot" which was written and produced by the Salem and Jenkki to cement their 15 year relationship.
"Explosive: The Remix Collection" is due to be released on September 6, 2020. Pre-sales for the album begin from August 30 via all digital outlets.
