Lil Wayne canft get an Eminem verse, but Trick Trick sure can. Amid rumors that hefs providing protection for Em in exchange for guest verses, production and an unofficial co-sign, Trick Trick took time to talk with XXLMag.com to clear up the speculations. Em has always been selective with collaborations, but Trick has been fortunate enough to spit alongside his fellow Detroiter on gWelcome To Detroit Cityh and more recently on gWho Want It.h Legend has it that Trick may have provided muscle for Slim in the past, allegedly running former Source honcho Raymond gBenzinoh Scott out of Detroit when he rode around the city digging for dirt on the rapper a few years back. gThatfs some bullshit,h Trick told XXLMag.com. gIf you fuck with him Ifll bust your head but itfs not like Ifm just protecting him. Thatfs my friend. I ride for all my friends.h Trick once again found himself in the middle of goon business when reports spread that he snatched Yung Bergfs Autobot chain in a scuffle at Plan B nightclub in Detroit last summer. Pictures of his friends, his brother and even his daughter rocking the chain floated all over the internet after he repeatedly denied involvement in the fight. He did confirm that the pictures were real, however. gMy daughter was properly grounded for that,h Trick revealed. gI had put the chain up in my house and I didnft put it so far up. Then my daughter decide she want to take pictures with it before she go to school.h Trick Trickfs The Villain (Koch) featuring guest appearances by Ice Cube, Royce Da 5f9 and production by Eminem and Dr. Dre, hits stores November 11th. -Michael Cohen
Champagne lovers won’t be popping Lil Wayne’s bottles anytime soon. XXLMag.com has learned that Weezy has put an indefinite hold on introducing his Halo Champagne. Sources told XXL Wayne didn’t think it safe to release Halo due to the country’s struggling economy. As previously reported, Wayne partnered with Milestone Brands and Voirin-Jumeh to create Halo Champagne earlier this summer. The champagne was slated to hit stores by year’s end. “I’m excited about this venture with Milestone Brands,” Weezy stated at the time. “Champagne is for celebrating. There are so many different business opportunities…I want to take advantage of it all. I’m ready to put my foot in a new door.”-Bruce Moses
