Can't what you ask? I can't put off posting this shit any longer. How do beats/instrumentals make it to the very first page? Do you only have to pay, or is there a rating system? I'm a recording artist, not a producer, and I say that because most of the beats I hear on the very first page now are usually bad compared to some hot shit I've seen in between and the end of the category. Every category is like this.
From a consumer's standpoint on this thing--BRING HIP HOP BACK IN YOUR BEATS!!! I'm really getting tired of the bullsh** beats that are makin' it to the front page of soundclick. Don't know how some clowns are makin' it there. At first I thought it was because of the ratings, but when I clicked on some producers' pages and saw that they had no ratings, I just wondered. ALSO, I'm sick of this synthesizer bullsh** on the beats. The beats were so lame on the main page, I was forced to look at the other categories like "Hip Hop" or even "Old School". Again, I was left disappointed with some mainstream type bullsh** beat. As an artist lookin' for a hot beat that inspires me with some soulful shi* that I feel, bring the beats back to where it started--HOT DRUMS. Not bass, hot DRUMS. F*** the synthesizers, f***the pianos, just make a hot beat with hot drums...and perfect mixing that sh*t down and perfecting the mix. All this otha shi* is just too much....Duuuuude. Sometimes LESS IS MORE. ALSO, to the producers, be honest with your beats on this thing. If your track is jazzy, then load it as a jazzy beat. If your beat has mad strings and pianos, then load it into the classical category. Stop focusing on your damn hits and statistics and be true to yourSELF when it comes to your beats!!! There are artists that are looking for a hot beat and click on different categories based on what beat they think best suits their lyrics. AnywWHO, just venting...cause this shi* is ridiculous...in the bond of peace...keep grindin....
So many artists come to this crossroad and I must say that I'm not exclusive to either one. At the end of the day, I say keep it fresh. As an emcee looking for beats on soundclick, I look for the beat that will fit my pieces ultimately. I always strive to be ahead of the curve, not following it. I like funky sounds that are unconventional and take the term "hot" to a new level. At the end of the day, if it came down to it, I would rather take the solitary road than take the risk of floatin face down in the mainstream...
