The Carmel Quartet, winners of the first prizes in chamber music and performance of an Israeli work in the prestigious 2004 Aviv competitions , was established in 1999. In 2001 the quartet won first prize in the 'Prague-Vienna-Budapest' international competition in Austria. The quartet studied in Israel with Haim Taub and abroad with the members of the Alban Berg Quartet in Cologne and with members of the Amadeus, Hagen, Bartok and Janacek Quartets.
