Decaying Orbit is an experimental, unorthodox, highly diverse & genre-splitting band from Texas led by their infamous front man Mike Ash. "No, this music's not about that, it's not about sound quality, it's about passion." - Mike Ash. Decaying Orbit is produced by their label, Decaying Enterprises Productions and has released many studio albums since they formed in 2008, after the violent break up of the Psychedelic Rock band, Strangefire, of which Mike was the former front man. Decaying Orbit believes in unadulterated musical & creative freedom, Mike describes their music as a "cathartic purge" or "nervous break downs caught on tape.". The band believes that creating music is a sacred, spiritual and magical art form brought to them by the Muses, wraiths and demons hidden just beyond the veil between the worlds of the physical and spiritual realms. Decaying Orbit has traveled beyond the veil and into the realms of the spirits, only to reemerge, like a caterpillar from it's cocoon emerging as a beautiful butterfly, so does Decaying Orbit get reborn through the fire of their cacophonous tunage. The band believes in complete freedom of lifestyle, I.E. sexuality, religion, spirituality, drugs, manner of dress etc. They believe that music is an interstellar language that needs no translation to be understood by absolutely anyone. It's the passion behind the emotions found in the music that matters to Decaying Orbit, they believe that integrity is more important than fortune or fame. This is our Decaying Orbit & we do hope that you will N'Joy tha' show!!!!
Band/artist history
Decaying Orbit began after the break up of Mike's former band, Strangefire in 2008. The Morgue studios were set up and Demonatrixxx Management was put into place. The band has since been recording with an unholy passion in The Morgue Studios and have released a plethora of EPs and LPs under the authority of their label, Decaying Enterprises. Their first release in 2009 was the LP, "Born To Decay", a violently noisy montage of sounds, more of an experience than an album. Their second release, also in 2009 was the LP, "Noizez From The Morgue" which was recorded at the same time as "Born To Decay". The album brought multiple world wide #1 songs for the band and was the perfect beginning to the Decaying Orbit sound. Their third LP in 2011, "Ifurin", was a much softer and more evenly produced collection of tunes, but still had the rough, hardcore edge that the band had become known for. Their fourth album was the 2012 LP "Chaos Theory" which found the band in an almost manic state, pumping out unique & different tunes at an alarming pace. The band released their fifth album, the 2013 LP, "Wastoid", & it was the most successful of their albums as far as world-wide #1 songs, there were like four or five that hit #1 world wide, it really amazed me man!!!! Decaying Orbit's sixth release was in 2014 when Mike started what is now known as, "The Tea Leaves Saga", a spoken word/remix/collaborative effort that went global and also brought the band a couple more #1 World Wide tunes. Mike recorded the spoken word vocals on his mp3 player when his multi-tracker was unable to mix down due to a broken CDR. The band's next release was the infamous 2015, "Bong Water Coffee & The Constant Struggle To Stay High", a crazy-ass album that was mixed and mastered by Germy of Sonicism fame. in 2017 Decaying Orbit released a collaborative-collective album entitled, "The Destruction Of Something Beautiful", the album features the other awesome artists, Sonicism, DrumnJon, Faunaserene, Nandoo, Aloka, Karmabend, Alpha One Omega & Woody. The Collective chronicles ALL of the collaborations that Decaying Orbit has been a part of. also in 2017, the band released the collective album, "The AntiSocialite" which spans Mike's entire 27 year musical journey. Decaying Orbit has had several recent releases, 'The Empty Orchestra'(2018), 'Lyfe @ The Motel Skitz'(Featuring: Cyber Aloka)(2018), 'Bombastic Doldrums'(2019), 'Pandemonium'(2019)(Featuring: Cyber Aloka), 'Obstreperous Anomalous'(2019), 'Operatic Cacophony'(2019) & 'La Bruja'(2020). Then they released 'A Black Hole Filled With White Noize' (2021) it was an instrumental electronica album, followed by 'The Silent Valleys Of Despair'(2021) an experimental spoken word album. After which they released the experimental album, 'Polymorphic Psychotropaholic'(2022). They have just released a collective of new material & all of their music from 2021/2022 entitled, 'Metamorphosis Of Sound', it includes collaborations with the wonderfully talented artists, Procrastinatrix, Faunaserene & Alpha One Omega. Our music has undergone such drastic stylistic changes over the last few years, but, I think the new sound will endure, at least for a while. I would like to Express my sincerest & deepest Gratitude to Cyber Aloka for her valiant efforts on my behalf to keep me creating in the last couple of years, without her help I might have given up the ghost. She also really helped in inspiring & molding the new Decaying Orbit sound. THANXXX ALOKA, YOU ROCK ME FROM MY DOLDRUMS!!!!

I am a Shaman, I have been called a Zen Punk Sorcerer by those who know me well. I believe that Punk Rock goes beyond a fashion statement and stands more for complete and utter personal freedom to listen to what you like, believe as you wish and to dress however you see fit. I am very liberal, but still have a set of very strict morals. I hate bigotry in ALL of it's myriad forms. I believe in Love, Compassion, Empathy, understanding & Respect. I consider myself a realist, not an optimist or a cynic, the glass isn't half full or half empty, it is simply a glass with liquid in it. I am totally in Love with my wife Willow, she is the Love of my life & the girl of my dreams!!! I do not believe in labeling musical genre and I try to push myself to think outside of genres. I LOVE ALL MUSIC. To me, music is a magical art form. I have been writing creatively since I was a small child and have wanted to be a musician since I was a very small(much to my parents dismay). I believe in the complete freedom to express ourselves as individuals. I am an artist as well as a writer and musician. I enjoy th night more than the day, I am more creative after dark. people consider me dark, but I am merely brutally and bluntly honest & utterly real. I feel people misunderstand me as a person as well as my music in a lot of ways, seeing only the darkness in it when it is really more about enduring & overcoming hardships than anything else. My music is about catharsis, absolute emotional release, I truly believe that the integrity of my music is FAR more important than ANY f ortune or fame it might bring. fame is fleeting and fortunes can be lost, but, music is FOREVER. I am a Schizoeffective, bisexual warlock shaman.
