At only 19 years of age, Right Hook has the rapping ability of a seasoned veteran. The native Brooklyn resident spend his adolescent years listening to rappers such as Jadakiss, Eminem, Jay-Z, Nas, and other renowned lyricists. He eventually developed his own style of clever lyricism, unique punchlines, and a silky smooth flow. If dumbed-down lyrics and party rap is what you're into, maybe Right Hook's music isn't for you. If you appreciate witty wordplay strung together with meaningful dialogue, you need to jump on the bandwagon.
Well I wrote my first rhyme around 12, and haven't put the pen down since. At first it was something I just did as a hobby, something to relieve my stress, but eventually I realized I'm nice with it and it was something I should pursue on a higher level. I feel like I'm getting better by the day, and I'm still young so I feel like my potential is sky-high.
I've never actually put on a performance yet or anything like that, just simple things like spitting for my friends and other rappers. I'm anticipating the day I finally do get a chance to perform.
Guys like Eminem, Jadakiss, Jay-Z, Joe Budden, AZ, I could go on and on, but basically dudes who could really get down lyrically and paint a picture on an instrumental.
A pen, pad, and a microphone. Sounds simple, and it is.
