OSR has gone thru several name changes. we were originally According to the RED. then, we were known as All But 1. now, we're Our Smirking Revenge. OSR has Molly Coats & Ashley Corke from AttR, plus 2 new members: Sam Marx and Rob Rickner. we did a remake of We Hate the World with the new members, plus we have a rough draft of a new song "No More". Right now, Molly is over in London studying, so we're on a bit of a hiatus.
Band/artist history
Back in late 2002, maybe during the summer, maybe during the fall, I, Ashley Margaret Corke, told Molly that we should start a band. She agreed full-heartedly. I knew right away that I wanted to play guitar and be the singer. Molly knew she wanted to play the drums. So thatâs how we started. We were According to the RED and were looking around for a bassist in several of our so-called friends, before landing our good friend Yurico Tovar (aka Tovar) as the bassist. She didnât have a bass yet, but we were collecting soda bottles and cans to get her one. Sure, that went a little slow, but hey. At least we had a goal. In 2003 or 2004, Tovar moved to Washington state, where she still thrives today. So it was back down to just Molly and myself. We did just fine as the 2 of us. Hell, in 2004 we even threw âœWe Hate the Worldâ? together in a matter of minutes, the night before our High Schoolâs Open Mic Night. We did pretty good with that song, if I may say so myself. Nothing else went right, but that song did. And there were kids singin the song through the halls of our highschool. The following year (our Senior year of High School) we played in our schoolâs talent show and even did good there. It was our 2nd song âœMeâ? (we donât have a recording of that one, although I wish we did). We rocked. After graduation 2005, I went down to Tennessee with my ex-fiance and was planning on moving down there for good. But I came back in July to go to Warped Tour with Molly. There, we rocked til we just about diedâ and Iâll tell youâ we just about died, literally. I had heat stroke or something and we were so burned we were about glowing in the dark. It was after that I decided we needed to get our band going and get to the Warped Tour ourselves. But that failed. Molly went to college and I started working. In 2006, we both started working at Washington Mutual, but Molly quit before she had to return to school. we later recruited our friends Samantha Marx and Robert Rickner. and i think we rock! Right now, we're on hiatus, because Molly is in London, studying until June.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
we did back in highschool as AttR. i guess our special moment would have been when i spoke into the mic asking if Molly's dad was out in the audience at a school performance. (A$hLey)
