NIck Alvarez and Isaac Pierce met at an art show in 1997. Ten-speed begain in June of 2006. Pedal-bass came into use in October of the same year.
Nick Alvarez earned a B.A. in jazz studies from Columbia College Chicago (2002) and currently works full-time for the college while continuing to perform full-time. In addition to ten-speed, Nick performs in The Storytellers Trio, does sub-work and loves random improvisation in and around odd spots all over the city etc.
