Bonum, the alternative concept rock band from Kolkata, India, was formed in June 2006. Our focus on a dream run with the influences of two of the major concept bands, Pink Floyd and Dream Theater of U.K. and U.S.A respectively, Bonum is also highly influenced by the music of Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, Eric Johnson and lot of other soloists but a very few examples exist where subjects of the songs are as controversial as the ones by Bonum. One of the very few are progressive rock mavericks Ewigkeit, who delivered 10 tracks of thought provoking classic rock touching on subjects of mass media information control and much more in their album Conspiritus, thus labelling their sound as Conspiracy Rock. Bonum at present is composing songs in English, but we want to stretch out on the long run with songs in Spanish and even German, in short we want to take Alternative Rock music to a global height with our contradictory yet conceptually rich subjects. Though our sound is of Alternative Rock genre we have redefined our music as "Questrock" form as our subjects of all the songs revolve around a definite but unanswered question which we ask to our audiences.
Bonum was formed in June 2006 with the line up as Sompratim Das (Vocals, guitars), Devapriya Sinha (Vocals, guitars,), Tirthankar Roy (Bass), Rajan Bhaumik (Drums), Suresh Beck (Guest Guitars) and Abhinav Varma (Management). Since then there has been no looking back!
Bonum is still awaiting it's debut show.
