Hello - I'm Bobby Nichols. I'm a singer/songwriter/musician/performer. Right now I'm trying to hone my skills as a songwriter while trying to maintain everything else.
I live in Northeastern Wisconsin because I was born and raised here. It gets cold in the winter, but not real hot in the summer. There is anything that can bite you and kill you, and there aren't really any natural disasters to speak of.
It is my dream to make it into the fold and be able to make enough money from songwriting where I could live a decent life without starving. This way I could be successful and still be able to stay out of the tabloids.
I've been in and out of Classic Rock bands and Country bands for the last twenty-five years. Usually I'm in a band for a couple of years, and out for a couple. I've been in a Country band called City Limits for almost three years now. Everybody gets along great, and every position is occupied by a top-notch musician. We only play the rowdy Country music, and the crying in your beer kind of stuff.
I play live with City Limits (www.citylimits.netfirms.com) . We play newer rowdy Country Music. Everybody in the band is older and we all get along great. We play every other weekend, which is enough to "feed the need."
I have so many influences, it's hard to know where to begin. Here goes: Alice Cooper, Pink Floyd, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Doors, Deep Purple, etc. All the Classic Rock while I was in school.
Afterwards I started getting further back to artists like Leadbelly, Jimmy Rogers, Johnny Cash, Hank Williams Sr., and so on.
Dwight Yoakam was really what turned me on to the newer Country Music. Now I like some of it, and don't like most of it. I actually prefer the traditional Country Music.
Actually, I like anything that doesn't seem senseless to me. If I can walk away from it singing the melody of the song... it's a good one to me.
I have a Tascam 2488 digital recorder, and more guitars and other gear than you can shake a stick at.
If Jane is twelve years old and Paul is fourteen, what did Sam have for lunch?
