I'm a keyboard player, arranger, singer, composer and song writer, it's mostly funk and jazz, lounge music I delve into. It is not my first occupation. I have another regular job, that pays better, fortunately ! lol. I am based in France and gig around Paris mainly.
I started playing the piano at 10, took a couple of private lessons for a few years, practiced for the usual degrees and contests, but was soon got fed up with classical music, and spent most of my time picking up tunes I liked on the piano.
I then started a band from age 17 to 20ish, and then played in several other bands.
Forgot all about music for nearly 10 years and came back to it big time, ending up playing in a semi-professional funk bands, some of which I hated the atmosphere and quit, it wasn't my bread and butter, so It still have this luxury of choosing people over fame or music.
I started home studioing 10 years ago, and now I'm a lead vocalist and keyboardist in two other bands and used to play in up to 9 bands for 45 years and stuck it for 4 years, and came back to a more manageable number of bands (3)
I do a lot of home studio work, and have been asked by XLN Audio to make demo tracks for one of their products.
I also write lyrics for French bands and love the work consisting in finding suitable lyrics for French singers’ vowel singing, I turn gibberish into lyrics, is great fun to do.
I have also been asked to write bios of bands in French.
At present, I'm refocusing on sound design and my own production. I'm trying to really understand all the knocks and crannies of the NorsStage3 , the synth section and the organ section, I've been playing on Nord for a long time, and still need to dig in deep to get to grips with the complexity and potential of the beast of a synth.
I play live in a number of bands, mostly funk and rock, as a lead vocalist or as a keyboardist and have been doing it for 20 odd years now, I'm slowed down the gigs to concentrate on sound design, composition etc. and I still have a gig or two a month and more come the summer period.
Funk, jazz, soul, pop, classical.
Nord Stage3, Roland XV2020, Rolland JDXi , Micro KORG XL, KOMPLETE 11, Motu 500 audio card, KRK 5 active monitoring loud speakers. Voice-touch live and a few effect pedals.
I am planning to set up my own production and gigs - electro-funk style.
