LightHead is a band that plays original music encompassing many styles, including pop, rock, reggae, country, and folk. We pride ourselves on creating songs with strong, memorable, melodic hooks combined with thoughtful (and occasionally humorous) lyrics.
Sam Anderson has been performing in various local bands since the late 1970's. He took up the guitar at age 10, and began creating original songs shortly thereafter, a skill that he has continued to refine to this day.
After a lengthy musical hiatus in the late 1980's, Sam met drummer Tony Palmer in 1990. No stranger to the local music scene, Tony had been perfecting his drumming style for years.
Sam and Tony worked together on various studio projects during the 90's. In 2002 they met singer/songwriter/keyboardist Dan Harris, formally of the band Dreadnaught. Dan's soulful approach to songwriting proved to be the perfect complement to Sam's pop sensibilities. The addition in 2005 of bassist/sound engineer Jon Blake, one of Dan's acquaintances, completed the mix.
The band is currently completing their debut CD, scheduled for release in May, 2007. Sam has contributed most of the songs, and Dan has served as both sound engineer and producer (Dan also runs a production company called Everpresent Audio). LightHead is available for bookings, and can be contacted through this site. For additional information, check out www.myspace.com/lighthead.
We play live whenever we can. Songs don't exist unless they are heard.
We have many influences, and do not limit ourselves to one particular style or genre. When we write, we incorporate whatever style happens to move us at that moment. Strong melody lines are the common thread.
We want to play for you (yes, you!).
