Let's Have Another Drink & Get Stupid

This is supposed to be funny...
Well, I guess I'm not really a band as I have performed as a solo act for most of my life. Lately, my sweet lady has been playing accoustic bass and singing with me on many of the gigs and from time to time we also have a lead guitarist and sometimes a drummer as well. All of this is rather new, very fun and exciting. But whether I am working alone, or as a duo, trio or four piece band, it's still just; J. D. Haring.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
Yes, I have played all over the United States for many years; mostly in the Southwest for quite some time but I have also toured throughout the U. S. once or twice each year. Now, I am touring in Europe and Scandinavia mostly.... how fun is that?!!
Your musical influences
You know I started very young and my first exposure was to the great traditional, Country, Folk and Bluegrass greats such as Merle Travis, Mother Maybelle and the Carter Family, Doc Watson, Hank Williams, Lefty Frizzell, The Stanley Brothers and all the rest of those time honored legends. Then as a teenager, like everybody else, I found Rock & Roll so it was Chuck Berry, Buddy Holly,The Beatles, The Stones, Eric Burden and the Animals, Clapton, The Band and on and on.. Then came a wonderful time in history when Folk music became Pop music...Geeez, what a rich time with Paul Simon, James Taylor, Jim Corce, Cat Stevens, John Prine, Dylan etc. So, with all of these influences combined I guess it just makes me a "finger pickin', flat pickin' product of the 60's" lookin' for the right thing to say and a good way to say it in a song.
What equipment do you use?
I play a Simon & Patrick guitar for my studio work and lately an Ibanez accoustic/electric for stage work. I currently am using a PA system I bought in Aarhus, Denmark from Woodstock Guitars called SR Technology and it is really a great, clean, natural sound.
