Band/artist history
Began playing in bands at the age of 12, as a drummer. I have been in about 5 different bands over the years. Starting with a typical School band called . Playing and writing stuff like and Then a band called Around this time (aged 17) I started to pick up the guitar and started writing songs. Next was a the first band that had it's own original sound, called , a name derived from one of our first songs, where I wrote the drums and backing, the lyric being provided by the guitarist ,this was New Wave stuff as distinct from Punk, occuring around early 1980's. We soon became very popular in the local area, and it wasn't long before we were playing in Reading(uk) and London; playing in such places that had seen the embryionic stages of bands like U2 and the Cure. comprised initially of on guitar and vocals, on bass, and myself on drums and sort of shit backing vocals. We released a 3-track ep on vinyl. This now sells in Japan for 25 a go. , being the good-looking one in the right place at the right time, ended up playing bass for and then ultimately, rock band . The zenith of was probably when we were a four-piece band comprising me,(drums)(Bass)(Guitar and backing vox)(vocals) of fame, offered us a pilot-single deal, but band's musical differences were getting in the way. The commitment was too great for a band that looked like it was about to fall into demise. So Dig:Dig:Dig was no more. Bill, myself and Wurz the roadie, started recording songs we felt Dig:Dig:Dig would not have considered. This band had the crap name of ; but good songs. People moved away and I was left on my own, writing songs for myself. Bill is in New Zealand and with the power of the Web, we are now creating songs together again. This is
