It's a one man show. I started off on paper years ago until a friend needed something to lay down so he could learn some studio equipment. So I spit a few verses, and he told me that I had to do a full-length album. I laughed. I'm just a white suburban Ph.D. student. But then I got the same response from some boys in the city. So now I'm in the process of laying down that first album one song at a time. I'd love to hear what you think of the first few songs that I have been able to post on this site.
We're just getting started. Check out the intro above.
I don't have enough tracks completed for a full performance yet. So I just settle for one song at a time at ministry events here in the northwestern chicago suburbs.
Eminem. His complicated rhyme schemes with internal and end rhymes let me know that there is space for some high quality lyrical composition. Now I just hope I can put a better message to that lyrical complexity.
My laptop, a condenser mic, and some software. At least until the demo album is fine-tuned and it's worth paying for a studio.
