Nectarphonic is an atmospheric groove rock band with a sultry female voice. Fans of Portishead, Massive Attack, Garbage and Radiohead will like Nectarphonic's music.
Nectarphonic was born out of the philosophy that less is more. With an atmospheric, groove approach, the songs sound like Portishead and The Cocteau Twins had carnal knowledge. Created in the summer of 2000, the band believes that space within music is crucial and that what is "not" played is as important as what "is" played.
Residing in Los Angeles, California, the band decided to record their music so they wouldn't forget it when Ken took off to Morocco for two months. Nectarphonic's musical approach is something that people are really responding to.
With a traditional line-up of guitar, keyboards, bass & drums, the song writing approach is based on improvisation as well as thought out ideas. In a musical universe that seems to be dominated by the guitar power-pop crunch, Nectarphonic's music can definitely let the listener breathe.
"Satellite" is Nectarphonic's new CD. The band is currently self-promoting this CD and sales are strong.
Besides CD sales rising and club bookers ringing the phone off the hook, Nectarphonic has licensed the songs "Will I" & "The One" for an indie film! Nectarphonic's music can also be heard on the MTV shows 'Undressed", “Real World” & “Road Rules. A Nectarphonic tune was also licensed for an episode of the T.V. show Felicity.
