We are 4 buffoons from California that are sticking our music out here on this internet.
Band/artist history
Combine nostalgic futurism with the progressive fury of Queen, Emerson, Lake and Palmer, and Frank Zappa and you have a good idea of what to expect from The Hairbrain Scheme. Since taking up arms in late 2004, this ballsy four-piece of Grant Parsons (vocals), Chris Nava (keys), Nate Harris (bass), and Bobby Halvorson (drums) has been leaving a marked impression on both the Santa Barbara and Los Angeles music scenes. Characterized by distinct, addictive vocal melodies, intriguing psychedelic keyboards, and crushing distorted bass, The Hairbrain Scheme’s music is cerebral, soulful, and aggressively playful. The recent release of their debut EP, entitled “You’re A Nation,” has won the band accolades from local press, college radio, and beyond.
