JAHYUT
The Furna Burna
Born Sean Dawkins on June 11, 1981 in St. Mary, Jamaica, JAHYUT is the last of five children born to Dorene and Leroy Dawkins. JAHYUT spent his first eight years in Jamaica, residing between Kingston and St. Andrew. Later, JAHYUT immigrated to the United States, settling down in Broward County, Florida, where he would graduate from Boyd Anderson Senior High in 1999.
However, it was in the concrete streets of Kingston where JAYHUT first saw and experienced the hardship and dirty hands that life sometimes offers. Under the watchful eye of his parents and family members, JAHYUT began to mature in to a man. With his parents’ teachings, along with his memories of life in rural Jamaica, he developed a disdained taste for city life.
JAHYUT realized his musical talent from as early as high school, where he found himself writing poetry, and rhyming to the sounds of reggae beats. He then began writing about his personal experiences and the social indifferences that he has come to know.
What sets JAHYUT apart from other artists is his versatility. He is able to write and perform authentic reggae and dancehall, as well as, spit hardcore hip-hop lyrics, with each style being equally profound and original. Regardless of the genre chosen, JAHYUT message remains the same Rastafari Lives and Reign over all.
JAHYUT is in the final stages of completing his debut album, MOUNTAINS TO CLIMB. It will be available for purchase online @ jahgydeyahrecords.com. JahGydeYah Records in house super-producer Stevie Purpose produces all tracks on the album, which features guest appearances by fellow JahGydeYah family members J.Will, G.Cole, Gorken, Bones, Chink, as well as Stevie Purpose.
