Money Power Respect.. If you don't understand that, you don't understand life.. Get ready to be enlightened.... Hip-hop has always been a passion in our lives. With the current state of the art, it is imperative that a new sound from the south rises over the stereotypes and show the hip-hop community that there is more to the 'dirty dirty' than 'walking it out'. Following in the influence of many legendary rappers, young S.Dot is bringing real hip-hop back to the table. Armed with an arsenal of refreshing and smart, sometimes socially conscious lyrics, it is clear to see that the south is not dead, and neither is hip-hop in the south. By merely skimming this short bio, you can sense the theme of this whole movement...: HIP-HOP. The production, supplied by a few up-and-coming producers, are as hip-hop as b-boys in the park. Take a moment hip-hop heads, and hear exactly what some southern kids, who share a passion for this ART, have brought back to the game. They say that it's dying, but we are the type to not let go until it's truly gone. And as long as artists and producers who share the same passion for the music exist, then hip-hop will NEVER die. GET AT YA BOY-- S.DOT.
Your musical influences
First of all, vinyl records and turntables are the most important thing in hip-hop to me. It's from there that sampling was born, and creation of hip-hop melody began to shape. The lyrics are just a complement. As far as artists go, Nas was the first emcee that made me wanna write, and create meaningful shit. Jay-Z is my biggest influence business/commercial-wise. That nigga has so much hustle.."I ain't a business-man, I'm a business, MAN."
