Eternal Quarantine (rehearsal demo)

Prescription America is a four piece Alternative Rock outfit from the Northeast whose goal is to take songwriting to the next level. The groups sound mixes both melodic pop-rock, with straight ahead dirty rock and roll to create their unique sound. Often compared to the likes of The Pixies, The Beatles, Elliot Smith, Weezer, and The Rolling Stones, Prescription America prides itself on writing top notch catchy songs, which will be stuck in your head for days upon days after you hear them. The band was formed in February of 2005, when Drummer Rob Charette (formerly of Running With Karma fame) had a chance meeting with singer/songwriter Michael Thomas at a local indie-rock hot spot. Mike was performing a solo act that night, and Rob could tell that his songs had something special to them. After the two had a chance to talk together about music and ideas, they decided that they were both on the same page, and that it would be a wise venture to put a band together. After a few weeks of jamming together and learning some songs, the duo had connected with guitarist Chris Garner. Chris is a New Jersey native who had recently moved to the Northampton area, and was looking for a band to play for. He brought a classic rock/blues element to the bands sound, his leads and solos were bringing the group to a new level. After a few tryout sessions with different bassists, fate stepped in as the group stumbled upon Staten Island native Matt Silberstein. Matt wrote the definition on what a solid bassist should be. His creative and fitting bass lines are exactly what the group needed to round out such a tight rhythm section. Matt is also a solid songwriter, which adds to the chemistry in the group and makes for a very creative unit. The group now had all the pieces in place to take it to the next level and start playing around the area. The group is now anxiously looking to the future with an optimistic view. Having a couple of shows booked each month, and working on a demo after only a few months of working together is most definitely a sign of hard work. Prescription America is hoping that the hard work they put in now will bring them to bigger and better things in the future. Keep an ear to the ground because Prescription America is looking shake things up & make a huge impact in the rock world.
