Celtic music with a distinct Welsh and Irish slant, incorporating intricate harmonies to create a sound that is progressive, yet timeless.
Formed in 2004, Whiteboys are:
Michael Todd Higgens - bouzouki, vocals, etc.
Kyle Walsh - lead vocals, guitar, etc.
along with ocassional partners-in-crime:
Rich "Ringo" O'Fortune - drums, percussion, Mediterranean flavor
Randall Gregory - tin whistle, guitar, drinks
Steve Holroyd - bass guitar, upright bass, keyboards
Rich and Kyle played together for years in a rock band. Steve played for years with other rock bands, which sometimes included Randy. In 2000, Rich, Kyle and Steve formed a rock band together. Kyle and Steve grew bored, and started playing Irish folk, which is something Steve and Randy used to do together from 1990-92. From out of Steve's distant past came Michael, who bears a remarkable resemblance to Steve. Many rehearsals and much Jameson's later, Kyle and Michael formed the Whiteboys. Not-Quite-White Rich, Pasty-White Randy and White-Liar Steve help when needed.
If we ever get out, we'll play in Philadelphia, Scranton, Newark (NJ) and the southern New Jersey area. Currently we do a lot of improptu house parties.
