NO ONE LEAVES AN OPEN DOOR
If you think an all-female band could only conjure Lilith Fair music melodramas, you are in for a huge surprise; much like the crowd that decided to sit down on the lawn of UP Manila, upon seeing and all-female band, and then, aghast at the first few measures of their pounding walls of sound, were compelled to slam each others' bodies.
This is the alchemy of uni-cellular beings in the full evolution of manifest destiny. Some people say Trish sounds much like Cher (who shall immortally rock in history). effusive with conviction and righteous indignation. George compliments this with astonishing, inspired patterns that demands much from Tet's intuitively-driven rhythm returns. Apat is the musical butterfly who embellishes each song with an indelible imprint of unmistakable emotions.
Trish was brought up and nurtured by jazz and ballroom musicians, responsible parents who have also been very supportive of soulful endeavors such as this. No surprise she had been champion five times in many singing competitions. If you know of any rock vocalist with that credential, then there ought to be better albums out there. And yet, from her words angst is heard most frequently than the rest. She demands the most passion from each musical arrangements that she seems satirical when she asks for mp3 of country music.
Apat is notable in the musicians network, having been habitue of many underground venues that have come and gone. She is frequently seen with other musicians milling around her intrigued by her ardor and infatuated with her penchant for new undiscovered music.
George with Apat, has been in the rock circles longer than Club Dredd has, having been writers/editors for the now defunct Rock and Rhythm magazine whose followers continue to haunt their e-group. George had been a loyal member of the eerily notorious band Bad Days For Mary and the only thoroughbred in terms of underground musical influences.
Tet, on the other hand, has been an activist, a painter and poet published next to literary luminaries before discovering her musical passions. She began as a growling vocalist (while being frustrated drummer) for another band with apat and George, and drummed for many other bands before joining Velvet Spill. Tactless, irreverent and disarmingly satiric, she says a Hate Club is the highest honor one can earn. having been exposed to New York's racially discriminating underground scene as a drummer, she has developed an approach that is uniquely visceral as it is crafty.
