The Fan-Fiction are an alternative rock band based in Leicester, United Kingdom. Formed in 2009, by Jason Smith (guitar), Glyn Reynolds (drums) and Elizabeth Cornish (guitar), all students at University of Leicester, the band started off as a pop-rock quartet after Travis Rothschild was recruited on bass and frontman duties.
Following a few months of hiatus upon Elizabeth's leaving, The Fan-Fiction were soon reunited with the addition of two new members, Nishant Cherian (guitar) and Chatchai Jivacharoenchai (bass). This brought a whole new range of musical influence and a drastic change to the band's sound. The band soon launched out in Leicester, after winning the Leicester Uni 2009 Battle of the Bands competition, and have been gigging fairly regularly at local venues including The Shed, The Firebug and Walkabout.
Now composed of a rather international line up, The Fan-Fiction have just recorded two of their tracks; The Sweet Taste of Silicon Life (which is a new twist on the old version written with the former line-up), and a fresh new track, Out To The Pasture.
Yes, we've played at a bunch of places around Leicester, including The Independent Arts Centre, The Shed, The Firebug, and Walkabout. We're always looking for more opportunities!
