I am a die-heart classical violinist. I perform in a youth orchestra, a string chamber orchestra, and a quartet. I occasionally play concertos with my orchestras. Right now, I am working on Concerto No. 9 by Charles DeBeriot with my string orchestra. I love those kinds of Romantic pieces from that era. I also play baseball as side recreation. I hit leadoff and play centerfield. Baseball is by far my favorite sport, both to play and watch professionally. I think that in general, people should become more versed in classical music. People who just listen to rock and rap don't realize the beauty of classical. I think they would benefit in many ways from listening to and performing it. On the other hand, these so called "classical composers" of today have no sense of beauty in their music. They might benefit from just listening to the music rather than analyzing it. Let's face it though, none of these composers, except for John Williams, are even close to any of the greats, like Mozart, and my favorite - Beethoven.
