https://www.commonwealthresounds.com/news/to-her-majesty-queen-elizabeth-ii/ Please visit The Commonwealth Resounds Website to listen to the song "MAJESTY". I was commissioned to provide the lyrics for their official commemorative song for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II during the national mourning and across the Commonwealth. The Commonwealth Resounds are a charitable organization who organize music events & collaborations across the Commonwealth, often working on behalf of the Royal Family on special occasions, liaising with the late Queen's Pageant Master Bruno Peeks & Master of Music Judith Weir. Their patrons include Patti Boulaye, Kuljit Bhamra, Eugene Skeef & Tunde Jegede who are not only accomplished musicians but have a wealth of experience in the music industry & beyond. The song was performed by The Purcell School For Young Musicians (aged 10-18) and King Charles III is a patron. Their teachers, alumni & the pupils had just 6 days to learn, rehearse, perform, arrange & record the song. They did a magnificent job in very sad, emotional & challenging times. The vocalist on the song is former Purcell pupil Gayatri Nair who is now studying at The Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance in London, England. Noah Chiari (aged 17) arranged this version of the song and coordinated the musicians & technical staff during recording. Paul Whitfield, a worship leader & singer/songwriter from the North of England wrote the melody. Alison Cox OBE, Commonwealth Music Consultant & Founder of The Commonwealth Resounds commissioned the lyrics and melody, and guided the performing and recording process. The song has already proved extremely popular in the UK and has been featured on BBC Radio including 5 Live (drive time) where they played the song & interviewed Noah Chiari; they mentioned Rodrica Rudge as the lyricist and Noah stressed that he had been given "great" words and music to work with. The presenter was very complimentary regarding everyone involved. The song has also been featured on local radio stations across the country. There have been many messages and complimentary feedback from The Master of the King's Music, Members of Parliament, the Head of the Commonwealth Secretariat, radio DJ's and the media. The song is being sent to 800 choirs across The Commonwealth so that they are able to perform it. Although it was a challenge and huge responsibility (with much correspondence & late nights!), it was a fantastic experience to work with a team of people from all ages and nationalities. Alison Cox OBE was a superb coordinator & very attentive to the input & suggestions of the lyricist throughout. Everyone pulled together to bring about something we hope will be a fitting tribute to the longest reigning Monarch. Hi Rodz, thanks so much for the listen/adds and very kind comments on our latest - really went for that whole sinister minister genre that UK spy/cop shows deliver in such a clever and gritty way - we love them here in Aus as you guys do them so well! Have a great weekend, Sunday here already, cheers!

Hi Rodrica, thanks so much for listening and commenting on the,
We Are Scientists cover.
A big day today... I got my hearing aids today. Yes, you heard that right!
They change things quite a bit. Things suddenly sound less muddy, clearer... but also a bit more trebly.
I'm going to have to get used to almost 20/20 hearing again.
I now need to turn down the telly for starters.
I realise that I've probably over compensated for my gradual hearing loss by increasing the top end of my mixes. I'll have to do things a little differently from now on.
Oh the joys of getting old(er) ;)

Heya! Yeah we had a couple more calls, but I felt it best to stick to my original decision. They werent exactly over the moon about it & while I get that they have no control over their pet muppet, Im not gonna waste my time trying to deal with their shifting sands there, they have policies that change whichever way the wind's blowing...or should I say hot air lol? Besides he didnt really clear up all that crap & I wont do business with ppl who dont know which way's up, let alone act with any kind of decorum. Howz u?

Thanks for listening to my Julian Lennon cover and comments. Much appreciated . I was pleased myself on the quality of that recording. Do things the same and I think its often how well the song is suited to your own style.
