https://www.commonwealthresounds.com/news/to-her-majesty-queen-elizabeth-ii/ Please visit The Commonwealth Resounds Website to listen to the song "MAJESTY". I was commissioned to provide the lyrics for their official commemorative song for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II during the national mourning and across the Commonwealth. The Commonwealth Resounds are a charitable organization who organize music events & collaborations across the Commonwealth, often working on behalf of the Royal Family on special occasions, liaising with the late Queen's Pageant Master Bruno Peeks & Master of Music Judith Weir. Their patrons include Patti Boulaye, Kuljit Bhamra, Eugene Skeef & Tunde Jegede who are not only accomplished musicians but have a wealth of experience in the music industry & beyond. The song was performed by The Purcell School For Young Musicians (aged 10-18) and King Charles III is a patron. Their teachers, alumni & the pupils had just 6 days to learn, rehearse, perform, arrange & record the song. They did a magnificent job in very sad, emotional & challenging times. The vocalist on the song is former Purcell pupil Gayatri Nair who is now studying at The Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance in London, England. Noah Chiari (aged 17) arranged this version of the song and coordinated the musicians & technical staff during recording. Paul Whitfield, a worship leader & singer/songwriter from the North of England wrote the melody. Alison Cox OBE, Commonwealth Music Consultant & Founder of The Commonwealth Resounds commissioned the lyrics and melody, and guided the performing and recording process. The song has already proved extremely popular in the UK and has been featured on BBC Radio including 5 Live (drive time) where they played the song & interviewed Noah Chiari; they mentioned Rodrica Rudge as the lyricist and Noah stressed that he had been given "great" words and music to work with. The presenter was very complimentary regarding everyone involved. The song has also been featured on local radio stations across the country. There have been many messages and complimentary feedback from The Master of the King's Music, Members of Parliament, the Head of the Commonwealth Secretariat, radio DJ's and the media. The song is being sent to 800 choirs across The Commonwealth so that they are able to perform it. Although it was a challenge and huge responsibility (with much correspondence & late nights!), it was a fantastic experience to work with a team of people from all ages and nationalities. Alison Cox OBE was a superb coordinator & very attentive to the input & suggestions of the lyricist throughout. Everyone pulled together to bring about something we hope will be a fitting tribute to the longest reigning Monarch. Thanks very much Rodz for your really nice and cool words re; '201' - we both appreciate your comments (and visits) as they mean a great deal to us, cheers for that and thanks also for your read on it which we so respect - we're leaving 30's and going mid-high 20's all this week so that can only mean one thing, winter's coming!

Hi Rodrica hoping that all's well. Rain, rain and more rain, will it never end.
I'm very pleased with the latest Donovan song that I've re-interpreted.
I hope that you'll enjoy this version. It's certainly not a busker's version this time. :)

Thanks for checking out my latest and nice comments. As far as Maccas catalog it appears there might be many chestnuts for you to discover. Lol. The great thing about him it doesn’t really matter how bad an album is he can’t help but craft a few very melodic catchy pop tunes on it.

Thanks Rodz for the listen and comments on Keith's piece which we added to - it was such a fun thing to do and yeah it did add a bit of extra gravitas and sadness to it with that whole phone message audio (type of fx which we love using on a lot of these soundscape pieces). Love Keith's og version! cheers!

Hi Rodrica, I've, 'chickened out', of the XTC song. It's just too far out of my limited vocal range for me to sing it comfortably.
Instead, I'm offering it as a FREE backing track for anyone who might want to have a go at singing it or even making it into an instrumental.

Hi Rodz, if you get a chance we've got a wonderful track of Keith's we added to - gave it a numix and deleted the drums/percussion, adding strings, vocals and sound fx and duduk etc. Cheers.

Hi Rodrica, I don't know how familiar you are with the songs by XTC but I have taken it on myself to try and cover their song, Earn Enough For Us, from their excellent Skylarking album.
A real challenge to keep me busy for a while.

Hi Rodz, yes that re mix sounds pretty cool saying it was done on a mobile phone app, but Bruce knows his way around music, and you can sing with conviction, so it was always gonna be good, our dog thinks wellies are standard footwear now as I get ready to take her out again, AND thanks again for the visit to listen and comment on 'Virtual Intoxication'
Take Care
Alan and Roger.
