50 y/o disabled vet. i'm mostly a blues kinda guy, and i'm also old school just about any genre. some of the newer genres i don't "get" but that doesn't mean i won't listen... Kid Rock and Snoop Dog are good listens, also Five For Fighting and Three Doors Down are some of my favs because of their HUGE patriotic efforts. same goes for Toby Keith, Charlie Daniels, Hank Williams Jr, Shooter Jennings etc.
i'm a vet and my little brother is in Iraq now, so when i say i Support Our Troops - i mean it. check out www.giwoodshop.com
and you'll see why.
musically, i was raised on gospel, country, texas swing, western, pop rock, Elvis, etc. my very first album i ever bought was the Monkees. also had Beach Boys and "The Jungle Book" album. literally wore them out. played trumpet in the 4th grade because of that one song "The Bare Necessities" and that trumpet riff still makes me smile...
unfortunately, threw away all my old "bubble gum" music in the early 70s and graduated to Led Zep, AC/DC, Grand Funk, Foghat, etc. had quite a collection on 8-track...
still love the blues. especially electric guitar blues. roadhouse blues. i used to bounce at biker and blues bars, and live blues is the bomb! my family is from Oak Cliff and my brothers and sister went to SRV old HS in Oak Cliff also. i got to meet Jimmy Vaughan's father-in-law and sat in SRV's car in his garage...
RIP Stevie. we miss you.
