In l997-98 we joined a new explosive website called mp3.com which was incredible. But I noticed that there was no genre for producers so Producers found themselves placing their beats in the freestyle genre. I immediately notified mp3.com to let them know that they needed a beat category and almost overnight they added the category to their website. Soon after mp3.com announced that the company had been sold and was shutting down. I gathered over 200 emails from fellow producers letting them know that my plan was to create a new web portal for producers. At that time web technology wasn’t where it is today and the cost of creating such a portal was very expensive, but in 2001 I thought of another way to get in the door. As a producer/artist, do you sometimes get upset that the talent your producing isn’t as good as the beat or that every artist feels that they are the shit and should be treated like a star?
