Jesse Arroyo was born in Long Island, New York. He grew up with music and art surrounding him as a child. Jesse’s mom was always playing Motown and R&B and he became a fan of the genre at an early age. His mom and Dad divorced when he was seven years old. This was a sad transition in his life. His mother would write poetry and encouraged Jesse to express his feelings on paper. He also discovered that singing helped him emotionally. It was something that made him feel good. At fifteen his mom decided to move to South Florida where his grandparents lived because being a single mom was a struggle financially in NY. It was a difficult adjustment for Jesse because he had to leave his friends behind. He was also influenced by his grandfather who is an actor and encouraged Jesse to follow his dreams. Jesse always loved singing and was told that he had a good voice which made him want to sing more. He took voice lessons various times and always had in the back of his mind that one day he would pursue a career as a recording artist. At the age of 25, Jesse starting taking his singing more seriously and recorded a song in a studio for the first time and loved it. He decided that this was the direction he wanted to go. He continued to write and sing and developed a talent for writing music. With the help of a good friend and mentor he recorded his first song “Lonely Soul” and was praised by his family and friends. After that, Jesse was Abstract Official.
