Many have wondered why their tracks sound "low, unquality/" Their is a simple formula to solve for it is (g)i=(g)O. Where g represents garbage or low quality audio signal. i/o is the same as any DAW. Input and Output. Simplified: Garbage In is equal to Garbage out. In some ways I like to look at my individual tracks as cars, and the inputs I look at as gas tanks. The more gas you have in your tank the farther your car can travel! However; this rule has limits. In the digital world a full tank is around 0.9 db topping off is 0db. Just as topping off your tank may cause af fire at a gas station, clipping, peaking or topping off wil creat a fire within your mix. (Digital distortion kills speakers) Leaving your tracks at or around 0db for too long (see wavecycles comig soon) will often times result in a distorted sounding track or mix. Although peaking is sometimes used to create a desired effect, it is never recommended for novice producers/engineers. Perception is everything.....
