FLATBUSH BROOKLYN's own DACROOKLYNDODGER fell in love with hip hop early on growing up in NY, the birthplace of the culture. Influenced by the great's of the golden era ,watching video music box, rap city and listening to WBLS, HOT97, DJ Red Alert, Stretch Armstrong, Pete Rock, Marley Marl, and just the over all environment in the city. As a child observing the graffiti covered subway cars and B Boys break dancing on cardboard boxes on street corners ,and freestyling for fun in lunchrooms at school as friends beatboxed. Young DODGE would pen his own personal barrz as a hobby, honing his lyrical skillz in period where originality was key. Encouraged by is peers to continue Emceeing and improve his craft, urban life would eventually interrupt his hip hop aspirations. Household family issues would lead DODGE outto them streets, but writing rhymes would continue to be a theraputic outlet. The trouble in school and frequent Island would take its toll on DODGER's mother who thought getting out the environment would remedy the issue. So she resorted to move the family out to PA, however DODGER would bring his "Bklyn BS" with him. Linkin up with other kindred spirits, DODGE would resume his troublesome behavior, taking frequent Re - Up trips back & forth from PA to NY every week end. Besides his enterprising endevors, him and his Squad (S.Q.D) would engage in regular rhyme cyphers as a pass time even recording little mixtapeson a karioki machine and winning talent shows. But he had to move back to Bklyn to live with his father as an ultimatum by his probation officer for the violation of fighting in school from an original possession with intent to deliver charge on campus. It was either that or placement in juvinile bootcamp in rural PA. However that decision would turn out in his favor either as it would be a struggle to survive sleeping on the couch in the living room of his father's small apt. in Crown Hights Bklyn. Sharing such cramped living quarters with his pops, uncle and cousin, it was every man for their self. So it was back to the streets which land him back behind bars in Rikers Island. He would move back to PA with his mother and two young brothers when released. You can take the man out the ghetto but you can take the ghetto out the man, An armed robbery charge would land 19 year old DODGE in the PA state D.O.C for over a decad we just a few days shy of his 20th B-Day. Which provided him with enough time to reflect on his life up to that point, his decision making choices and the conditions in the community he was brought up in. After the initial "wildin' out" stage during the first half of his sentence, he started using his time more productively to prepare himself for the next chapter of his life's story. Taking up Business College courses, and continuing to hone his lyrical craft. Winning Prison talent shows, and even recording a couple mixtapes while incarcerated. With a new sense of social and cultural awareness from reading authors like Cheikh Anta Diop, William Chandler, Dr. Amos N Wilson, George GM James, George Jackson, Eldridge Cleaver, and The Autobiography of of Malcom X. As well as building with ex Black Panthers, NOI/FOI's, and brothers of the Kametic community, DODGER's lyrics became more socially conscious, and introspective, not to mention politically REBELLIOUS! Upon his release on Parole to a halfway house i Hazelton PA and eventually Harrisburg PA he enrolled in the Harrisburg Area Community College for Music Business Business. Aiming to launch his own imprint, "RENEGADEREBELENTERPRISES/REBRLMUSICTEAM" to release his brand of "REBELMUSIC!" Now taking his craft even more serious than ever before, DACROOKLYNDODGER throws his hat in the lyricist's ring, lending his contribution to the hip hop landscape to make his mark on the culture. Join him on his REBELLIOUS journey in resistance to the current climate of "Fuc Shyt" cheapening the culture. Defy the status quo and sterio types holding us back as a pe
